Rooted in Uganda. Anchored in Christ.
JAMS Children's Foundation is a Christ-centered Ugandan NGO dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children, disadvantaged families, persons with disabilities and underserved communities.

A dream of giving back. A movement of hope.
JAMS Children's Foundation was founded by Jonathan Innocent Mawanda, a vision bearer who knows firsthand what it means to receive a second chance. After leaving street life, Jonathan was helped through school by relatives and strangers who believed in him. That kindness became a debt of love he never forgot. Through prayer, he purposed that one day he would bring the same hope to underprivileged people across Uganda.
For years he gave whatever he could to those within his reach. In 2017 he shared the vision with close friends who came aboard, and together they registered JAMS Children's Foundation Ltd with URSB in 2018 as a company limited by guarantee without share capital. Today, JAMS is working toward full recognition with the Uganda NGO Board so we can expand our reach even further.
We travel to the villages that most organisations never reach, carrying food, scholastic materials, clothing, shoes, sanitary pads, toiletries, bedding and the good news of Jesus Christ. We come to serve, to listen, to pray, and to remind every child and every family that they are loved by God and by us.
Our Mission
To reach underprivileged communities in Uganda with a helping hand that meets practical needs and shares the good news of Jesus Christ, empowering children, mothers, orphans and widows to find hope and dignity.
Our Vision
A Uganda where every child grows up loved, learning, equipped for the future, and knowing the hope found in Christ.
The convictions that carry us.
Faith in Christ
Our work flows from the love of Jesus. We serve because we have first been loved.
Compassion
Every child deserves warmth, dignity and hope, in body and in soul.
Integrity
Transparent, prayerful stewardship of every gift entrusted to us.
Presence
We walk with the people we serve, listening, praying, and sharing the hope of the gospel.
Jonathan Innocent Mawanda
Jonathan is the vision bearer behind JAMS Children's Foundation. His own journey from the street to the classroom, made possible by the kindness of relatives and strangers, planted the seed that became JAMS. He believes that no one is too small to help and no community is too far to reach.
Today, Jonathan leads a growing team of friends, volunteers and partners who share one calling: to put a smile on every face they meet and to share the love of Jesus Christ wherever they go.

The faces behind our calling.
Children
Vulnerable boys and girls who need school supplies, clothing, food and someone to remind them they are loved.
Mothers
Women carrying the weight of provision alone, often in need of food, household items and encouragement.
Orphans
Young people without the safety net of family, in need of care, dignity and a reason to hope.
Widows
Women who have lost their partners and need practical support and the comfort of community.
Because presence is powerful.
Statistics move policy. Presence moves people. We choose presence: showing up, listening, sharing what we have, praying with the discouraged, playing with the children, and speaking the hope of Jesus Christ over every home we visit.
